Un miroir infidèle : la guerre d’Espagne vue à travers le Giornale Italiano de Milan
Abstract
After a brief introduction on the state of the press in Italy during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic period, the article gives some information about the foundation and programme of the Giornale Italiano, and its founder Vincenzo Cuoco. Then the Author, providing a wide choice of quotations about the Peninsular War, demonstrates how the Italian newspaper was in reality just a faithful copy of the French ones, participating to the same rigid frame of the Napoleonic propaganda in Europe.
