The fruit trucks incidents in the Pyrenees border are still remembered in Spain. However, lack of research on these events has thus far prevented us from ascertaining their origin, the forms of protest, and the aftermath of the conflict; in fact, even the dates remain unclear. This work is aimed at presenting some initial findings in order to better understand French farmers’ violent reactions in 1971 and 1976. Likewise, it tries to show how and when discourses against Spain’s entering the EEC emerged from fierce agricultural competition.
