Analysis of the non-violence and peace education programmes of the Ngo rest-cor in the light of the national reconciliation process in Côte d'Ivoire
Abstract
Abstract: This contribution aims to show the cross-cutting approach of peace and non-violence education programmes in the context of social and political crisis prevention in Côte d'Ivoire. The study seeks to identify good practices in the methodology of non-violence education of non-state actors for urban and rural populations. This reflection also highlights the need to popularise non-violence education programmes to ensure national reconciliation and sustainable development in Africa. Furthermore, by presenting non-violence as a prerequisite for sustainable peace and a harmonious society, the study addresses the implications of peace and non-violence education for the achievement of the African Union's Agenda 2063 and the United Nations' Agenda 2030. Specifically, our reflection takes stock of traditional school curricula for non-violence and citizenship education before looking for good practices in the popular education for sustainable peace courses of the NGO REST-COR.
