The performance characteristics and application fields of hydroxy-terminated polybuta-diene (HTPB) liquid rubber were summarized, the preparation methods and characteristics of HTPB were reviewed with 32 references, and various me-thods were summarized and compared. The advantages of HTPB preparation by olefin metathesis and the characteristics of olefin metathesis reaction were put forward, and the future development direction of HTPB was suggested.
