Objective To investigate the critical value of timed "up and go" test (TUGT) and analyze the risk factors of fall in Chongqing elderly. Methods A total of 1 200 elderly people were subjected by stratified random sampling from 3 hospitals, 3 communities and 3 nursing homes in Chongqing. Their demographic characteristics, educational level, underlying diseases, long-term medication history and fall history within 1 year were investigated. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of falls. TUGT was performed on all the subjects, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn to determine the critical value of TUGT, and its efficacy in predicting falls was analyzed. Results The intra-group correlation coefficient of TUGT was highly correlated (ICC=0.961, 95%CI: 0.956~0.965), and the Cronbach α coefficient was 0.980. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the OR value and 95%CI of fall occurred at age ≥80, long-term medication history and TUGT time were 1.591 (1.079~2.344), 2.198 (1.522~3.173) and 1.725 (1.598~1.861), respectively (P 12.8 s are independent risk factors for fall in Chongqing elderly population.
