Anterior subluxation of lens in a quiet eye: Initial presentation and outcome

Abstract

A subluxated lens is often associated with zonular weakness, which makes surgery with lens extraction and implantation of an intraocular lens particularly challenging. A 40-year-old healthy male presented with idiopathic partial anterior subluxation of lens without any signs of pupillary block glaucoma, corneal endothelial damage, or uveitis. Due to the absence of adequate zonular support, lens extraction with anterior vitrectomy and retropupillary iris claw lens implantation was done in this patient with good visual outcome. Lens extraction with anterior vitrectomy and retropupillary iris claw implantation can be a good surgical option in such cases.
