The article analyzes the directions of the State regulation of enterprises in the field of formation of a system of economic knowledge on the functioning of the regional economy from the point of view of emergence, formation, implementation, coordination and balancing of economic interests. The relationship between economic interests and needs of both the enterprise and the State, which can be ensured through the instruments of the State regulation, is provided. It is substantiated that the current trends in ensuring the innovative development of Ukraine’s industry and machine-building (as its main component) are due both to the nationwide vector of economic development, as well as to the specifics, resource potential, needs of the region and the degree of its involvement in innovative processes in accordance with world-wide trends. The main directions of economic development of enterprises and formation of their economic interests through the State regulation are outlined. Taking into account all directions of economic development during the transformation and neo-industrialization periods, and further on the economic interests of both the State and enterprises, it is advisable to consider stimulants and destimulators of the State regulation of operation and development of machine-building enterprises in the following directions: tax regulation, monetary regulation, budget regulation, investment regulation, social regulation, innovation-technological regulation, security regulation.
