Sunk in the mud. Spatial imagination and waste in La Virgen Cabeza

Abstract

This paper aims to review the imaginary of the crisis of the 90s in Argentina and its relationship with fiction in La Virgen Cabeza of Gabriela Cabezón Cámara. From a writing that explores the dimensions of the image and language, the materiality of the garbage and the accumulation of waste and the emergence of new territories, we will investigate the ways in which fiction displays other visual regimes and optical devices that intervene in the temporality of the end of the millennium.
