The author studies impossible figures and worlds in video games. To this end, they draw on scholarship dealing with impossibility in fiction, in particular certain works on possible worlds theory, and draw inspiration from approaches relating to the notion of gestures to guide their own creations. The latter, three of which are examined in this article, each involves a distinct creative gesture (switching, superposition and lying) to unveil world annihilation operations, which are expected to transform components within a video game fictional world and thus generate perceived impossibilities. The author discusses the protocol, similar between each creation, then exemplifies some operations produced by their creative process, and investigates certain observed consequences related to perceived video game impossibilities.
