La violencia política en la España del siglo xx: un balance historiográfico
Abstract
Political violence entered the arena of debate in Spanish historiography in the early 1980s. Since then, two generations of historians have placed political violence at the centre of their research agenda, to the extent that it is the most widely-addressed issue in present-day social and political history. This article reviews the different approaches to the problem, from the criminal-law perspective of last century and the debates raised by functionalists and Marxists in the 1950s and 1960s to the new avenues opened up by the various approaches based on the paradigm of collective action.
