Emergency Surgery After Percutaneous Closure of Cribriform Atrial Septal Defect: Case Report

In this report we aimed to present a 22-year-old female that underwent emergency surgery after an unsuccessful percutaneous closure of cribriform atrial septal defect.Percutaneous closure is a safe alternative for appropriately selected cases with atrial septal defect. Although percutaneous closure is widely used in treatment of atrial septal defects, one should keep in mind that surgical correction might be a more convenient option in certain cases [Cukurova Med J 2014; 39(2.000): 339-342]
