Ivireanu is a rigorous theologian, interested in the moral theology and the pastoral. The real Rumanian family builds itself from the conjugal couple. In practice, the ideal model is contradicted by the frequent divorces, a very great mobility of the population making it possible to free itself from the ecclesiastical rules. For Ivireanu, the family rests on the model trinitaire and must be animated by the love between the people. The end of the marriage is procreation and the conjugal love has little place ; Ivireanu is as severe for the men as for the women, he insists on the feelings of the parents towards their children and the duties of the children towards their parents. But it runs up against a society marked by ancestral traditions.
