The goal of this paper is to review the medieval literary knight's transformations upon its rising in the chansons de geste through its entrenchment as the protagonist character into the most representatives medieval romances of chivalry. The author analyzes the added features from the design of the Romanic epic hero, passing through the classic romances and the Chrétien de Troyes' creations, until the works in prose of the XIIIth Century. Features that include the love and the religion, items so important for the knight design as we known.
