This article reflects on the perspective of bioethics, from childhood vulnerability to a focus on health, in particular, regarding food consumption and its effects on the health of children. It defends the dialogue among state, family and society to protect the vulnerable against consumption and the lack of autonomy in food choices. The ethical dimension of the discussion on responsibilities takes into account, on the one hand, the concern of epidemiological data on chronic diseases in childhood and its complications and, on the other, the understanding that these diseases are potentially preventable with the promotion of health and disease prevention in early life cycles.
