The impact of trust, privacy concerns on behavioural intention in using mobile health applications

Most Vietnamese people are still familiar with the traditional methods of approaching medical services that direct registration of medical examination and treatment in hospitals or clinics. This leads to the overload situation of health care staff and makes the waiting time longer. Due to this current situation, the authors have conducted the research “The impact of trust, privacy concerns on behavioural intention in using mobile health applications”. This study was conducted in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) using questionnaires collected from 347 people living or working in Ho Chi Minh City. With the quantitative research method, the data has been analyzed by using SPSS 24 and AMOS 24. The research results indicate that Trust has a direct positive impact on Perceived usefulness and Perceived ease of use. Besides that, Trust is an indirect predictor of intention to use mobile health applications. In addition, Perceived usefulness and Perceived ease of use are a direct predictor of patients’ behavior to accept technology applications in healthcare services. The research contributes the background to help the leaders of medical facilities in Ho Chi Minh City invest and develop appropriate mobile health applications.
