Exploration iconographique des manuscrits d’André Schwarz-Bart

Abstract

Besides of being a writer, André Schwarz-Bart also drew: this article introduces three of the few drawings we found in his archives. Some (like “Mariotte” or “Solitude”) are linked with the novel, and published with it. They give a new dimension to the fiction. Other (like “The man with a hat”) seem to spring while André Schwarz-Bart is reading. This article explores the way some sketches in manuscripts deeply connect creation and inspiration.
