Multidimensionality makes human beings hypercomplex, dynamic and polyvalent. The current health professionals’ perspective on the patient facilitates loss of his/her life experiences. Quality nursing care requires global knowledge of the patient. Knowing about the patient’s experiences, memories and opinions becomes essential when he/she is admitted in an intensive care unit. The aim of this work is to demonstrate the pertinence of assumptions regarding the paradigm of complexity in holistic assessment processes and analysis of life experiences of a patient whilst in intensive care.
