THE COOPERATIVE SYSTEM AND ITS PART IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP OF PEASANTS IN UKRAINE (THE END OF THE XIX TH - THE BEGINNING OF THE XX TH CENTURY)

Abstract

On the basis of archives and literary sources the part of the co-operative system in the development of entrepreneurship of peasants on the pattern of Kiev, Podolye and Volyn provinces during the period of capitalistic modernization is highlighted. The author considers the characteristic features of the co- operative movement with respect to the industrial specialization of the provinces under study which specialized in producing marketable grain, sugar and hops. Consideration is given to the formation and functioning of the three main kinds of peasant co-operative system: consumer, credit and agricultural. The emphasis is laid on the main reason for originating the co-operative societies: small commodity producers (peasant economies) had to withstand big capital, the above being topical nowadays as well.Purchase on Elibrary.ru > Buy now
