Abstract
The development of modern information technologies and their application in various economical sectors had big impact on agricultural segment as well. Agrotechnical measures are already routinely carried out using autonomously navigated agricultural machinery. The basic condition for their effective deployment is a detailed knowledge of soil properties and field crops condition. One of the progressive approaches to obtaining such data, is the use of modern information and communication technologies, which offer opportunities to increase the efficiency of agricultural commodity production, while minimizing functional costs and inputs such as agrochemicals, fertilizers, irrigation needs, etc. “Internet of things” and the dynamic development of monitoring devices (such as drones), wireless sensors and their networks can lead to valuable yet cost-effective applications, especially in precision agriculture.
