Can the morality of a group whose members are interdependent be extended to all humanity and beyond?

Abstract

Abstract I review David Sloan Wilson’s This View of Life, which considers why a group’s members, if tightly interdependent, must treat each other sympathetically, justly and generously, and what actions could cause these sentiments to extend to all humanity.
