The article presents a short analysis of oxidation stability problems of diesel fuels, it describes the factors determining this stability and methods of its research. The results of investigations of base diesel fuel oxidation stability, commercial diesel fuel, basic diesel fuel, and rapeseed methyl ester mixtures are given. The effect of the fuel type and the influence of oxygen, heat, light, and the presence of water on the change of oxidation stability of the examined fuels was investigated. It was found that the decisive influence on the change of functional properties of the tested fuels has the effect of air and heat, and to a small extent the presence of water.
