Institutions must respond to the requirements of the environment in which they operate, developing substantive functions without being apart from the practices of social responsibility that have become a way to stay and contribute to the development of the community in which the institutions of higher education (IES) are inserted. The stated objective is analyzing the perception of the students of the Universidad Autónoma del Carmen (UNACAR) on the actions and practices of social responsibility. It made use of quantitative methodology, using a survey based on the proposals of Vallaeys (2009); as a main finding one can mention an area of opportunity in teaching, links and research as well as in relation to the environment; the students perceived as acceptable the position of the University regarding the practices of social responsibility.
