The Effect of Islamic Art on Modern Architectural cladding in Arab Countries (Study case to UAE)
Abstract
Art is the mirror of society and the way to recognize the extent of its civilization and progress. In the light of the technological development that prevailed the world, especially after the industrial revolution in Europe, which reflected its impact on all aspects of life. The effect might be clear in architecture, as it is the melting pot of all variables of life that affect society in all various axes. On the other side, the designer deals with the architectural space in different artistic ways, which representing a reflection of the cultural values of society. This reflection represents aesthetic value could be seen by the observer and who deals with the artwork, it seems to tell him his culture and expresses himself and values of his life in its various aspects. Architectural cladding were not away from architecture, it exists throughout history associated with its various forms and materials of all time. Therefore, aesthetic values one of the most important bases that must be expressed by artworks, whether architectural or plastic coatings. The concepts of Aesthetic values were differed among specialists according to various fields, but there are common grounds, namely how to achieve aesthetic values and how to perceive and feel them; some see it associate with compatibility and harmony between form, color and texture, and other see it through solidarity between the elements of form and its proportion. Therefore, we find that the human seeks aesthetics, feel it by influencing and reaching inside human, throughout three ways; sense, understanding and feeling, accordingly, aesthetics is divided into three types: Sensory aesthetic, emotional aesthetic, intellectual aesthetic, the measures of aesthetic vary depending on the cultural and natural environment between the Islamic and Western societies in which the community lives
