Vecchie abitudini e nuovi strumenti. Un sistema informativo per lo studio delle vicende architettoniche del Palazzo Ducale di Mantova

Abstract

This paper provides a brief overview of the potential interaction between the traditional methods for surveying archival resources, as well as for compiling descriptions of architectural heritage (for instance, Raumbuch), and the tools of digital history, with reference to cultural heritage research and architectural heritage research in particular. In this article is examined the adoption of this type of approach in managing, referencing and sharing data, collected during the research process which has focused on the analysis of sources for a history of Palazzo Ducale in Mantua, from the nineteenth century to the present.
