Purpose. To investigate the concentration of E-selectin soluble form in blood of the patients who is affected by acute CSCR and to determine its influence against the functional status and morphometric indices of macular zone.Material and methods. The analysis of retinal photosensitivity and concentration of soluble E-selectin, macular retinal tomography (HRT III) was performed among 36 patients with acute CSCR and 30 conditionally healthy males aged 22-54 years, who has no any accompanying somatic pathology. Patients who had astigmatism, moderate and high ametropia were excluded from the research.Results. The content of E-selectin soluble form in blood serum of patients with CSCR exceeds its concentration in blood of conditionally healthy individuals for more than twice (59.1 (22.387.2) ng/L and 25.5 (11.8-36.4) ng/L, respectively). The inverse correlation was revealed between E-selectin concentration in blood and disease duration, retinal photosensitivity, retinal thickness and retinal edema index. As a result there were detected that the maximum concentration of E-selectin is typical for early CSCR symptoms associated by insignificant ophtalmoscopic changes and vision reduction.Conclusion. The results of the research allow to discuss the endothelium dependent origin of the disease and to prove that E-selectin is related to appearance of macular changes during CSCR. ELAM-1 findings significance is more efficient at the early CSCR stages characterized by an absence of the visible clinical signs.
