Les massacres arméniens de 1895 à Diyarbekirà travers le témoignage du vice-consul Gustave Meyrier

Abstract

This article examines the Hamidian massacres perpetrated in Anatolia between 1894 and 1896 from a micro-historical perspective. The perpetration of the mass violence in the Diyarbekir (today's Diyarbakır) region is analysed through the study of a corpus of diplomatic and missionary archival material providing better comprehension of the specific roles of the different European actors present in Diyarbekir during the events.
