El elogio de ropas color pan quemado y la paquetería en Buenos Aires
Abstract
In this article, fashion journalist Victoria Lescano illuminates little known aspects of Juan Bautista Alberdi’s work, by retrieving several texts about fashion published in magazine La Moda (1837). She also focuses on several fictions by Silvina Ocampo and Silvina Bullrich in order to state the trends they imposed, often in close relation to their social class. Styles appear as the threads that allow us to embroider, at different times in history, the argentine literary landscape ; they also insinuate something else that underlies throughout Lescano’s text : the question about Argentine cultural identity.
