The essay focuses on the clandestine letters written by political prisoners of the Unidad Penitenciaria 1 in Córdoba during the last civic-military dictatorship, between 1976 and 1979. During that time, the authorities imposed a punishment consisting of total isolation from the outside. Firstly, we will reflect on how these men and women decided at that time to communicate with their families in a highly adverse context. We will identify some self-censorship discoursive procedures that the letters exhibit. Secondly, we are interested in assessing how those authors of letters have taken up the word again through their participation in the project that resulted in the book Filosofía de la incomunicación. Las cartas clandestinas de la Unidad Penitenciaria 1 (Córdoba, 1976-1979) (Eduvim, 2021).
