STUDIES ON NPK CONTENT OF DIFFERENT LITTER MATERIALS USED FOR BROILERS
Abstract
A study was conducted to evaluate the fertilizer value of broiler manure obtained from broilers reared on different litter materialsviz., wood shavings, saw dust, rice husk, coir pith and paddy chaff. Results of the study revealed that litter materials significantly influenced the NPK content of broiler manure. It was observed that nitrogen, phosphonts and potassium content of paddy chaff were comparatively higher than the values obtained for other litter materials. The average nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content of broiler litter recorded at 8 weeks were 4.342, 1.103 and 0.909 per cent respectively.
