Small and medium enterprises Algeria - reality and expectations - an analytical study during the period 2006-2019

The purpose of the study is to use an analytical descriptive method to emphasize the idea and reality of small and medium-sized firms in Algeria from 2006 to 2019. Statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Mines were used by the researcher. The study came to the following conclusions: - The notion of SMEs is not universally understood. While Algeria has embraced the quantitative criterion, every state classifies SMEs based on economic, technological, and policy reasons. - How the number of small and medium-sized businesses has changed over time, including fluctuations brought on by the 2008 and 2014 fuel crises. "-The service sector is predominant when it comes to the distribution of SMEs by industry.The northern areas have a concentration of SMEs, while other regions are marginalized, characterizing the geographical distribution of SMEs.
