Christian temple on the cape Ai-Foka near v. Morskoye in south-east Crimea
Abstract
A Christian single-nave temple with pentahedral apse, investigational on the cape of Ai-Foka in south-east Crimea by an archaeological expedition under the direction of I. A. Baranov in 1988-1989, is analyses in the article, carrying publication character. Church, having analogies in medieval Sugdeja, can be dated within the framework of 13th –14th centuries. The structural features of cult building are characteristic for architecture of the Trebizond Empire of the indicated chronologic period. Not eliminated, that this temple, as well as his Sugdeja analogy, is erected by the Armenian architects for Christian community.
