The microstructural evolution in 7050 alloy during rapid aging treatment was studied by using electrical pulse technique, and the properties of 7050 alloy has been investigated. Compared with the alloy experiencing the conventional heat treatment (CHT), the strength and hardness of the 7050 alloy is remarkably improving, and the aging time is reduced by 8 h saving energy. The microstructure of aging treatment 7050 alloy assisted by electric pulse is more uniform. Moreover, the kinetic equation of 7050 alloy aging treatment assisted by electric pulse was established. The calculating formula of the precipitated phase nucleation rate accelerated by electrical pulse processing was obtained according to the classical nucleation theory. The thermodynamic energy barrier to be overcome decreases in the process of 7050 alloy phase nucleation so that the nucleation rate is increased. It significantly improves the properties of 7050 alloy.
