Determining the Relationship Between the Perceived Stress Level of Nurses and the Quality of Work Life
Abstract
Aim: This study; The aim of determining the relationship between the given stress level of perceptions and the structural quality of work life was made in the searcher design. Method: The study was conducted with 280 nurses working in a university hospital. The data were collected by the researcher with a face-to-face survey method between November and December 2021 with Personal Information Form, Perceived Stress Level Scale and Nursing Work Life Quality Scale. In the analysis of the data, t-test for independent groups, one-way analysis of variance, Mann Whitney-U test, Kruskal Wallis and Pearson correlation analysis were used. Results: According to the results of the research; The mean score of the Perceived Stress Scale was 32.26 (SD=7.99), and the mean score of the Nursing Quality of Work Life Scale was 103.61 (SD=12.75). Nurses' Perceived Stress Scale mean score and Nursing Work Life Quality Scale total and relations with managers, job perception sub-dimension mean score were negatively weak, and Nursing Work Life Quality Scale work conditions sub-dimension negatively and weakly correlated (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was determined that the levels of stress and work life quality of the nurses participating in the study were moderate. The perceived stress levels of nurses are affected by the quality of work life, working conditions and socio-demographic characteristics. In the light of the results of this study, it is recommended to plan studies to reduce the perceived stress level by improving the quality of work life of nurses.
