Congenital hairy polyp of the palatopharyngeus muscle: A case report
Abstract
Introduction: Congenital hairy polyps (CHP) are rare, benign masses originating from the nasopharynx or oropharynx in neonates and infants, with an overall incidence of 1 in 40,000. Case report: We present the case and management of a 2-month-old child with an oropharyngeal mass. Discussion and conclusion: Congenital Hairy polyps are rare malformations of bigerminal origin. Their diagnosis can be challenging, and their management relies mainly on surgical excision.
