AVALIAÇÃO PARASITOLÓGICA EM LACTUCA SATIVA (ALFACE) E BRASSICA OLERACEA L. (COUVE) PROCEDENTES DA CEASA NO MUNICÍPIO DE ANÁPOLIS – GO
Abstract
Objective: To investigate the occurrence of intestinal parasites of interest to health in vegetables sold in Central de Abastecimento de Goiás S.A (CEASA) in the city of Anapolis (GO). Methods: 42 samples of lettuce and cabbage were collected during the second half of January 2012 and submitted to the spontaneous sedimentation technique. Results: There were 11.9% and 14.2% of samples of lettuce and cabbage contaminated respectively. Conclusions: The most prevalent enteroparasites were Endolimax nana (lettuce: 19% and cabbage: 14.2%), Entamoeba coli (lettuce: 0 % and cabbage: 9.2%) and Ascaris lumbricoides (lettuce: 4.7% and cabbage: 0 %). Possibly the lack of supervision for observance of compliance with standards for implementation of marketing within the CEASAAnapolis (GO) promotes non-compliance with such rules and compromises the quality of products.
