Psychological Resourcefulness as a Predictor of the Personality’s Ethical Attitudes

Abstract

The psychological resources of the individual are indicated by the factor which determines the nature of the human decision of life situations, the content of which is a moral and ethical problem. In order to find out the nature of determining interpretation of the situation of interpersonal relationships with the human’s psychological resources, the modeling experiment is used. In particular, the participants in the study – 120 people in age between 17–56 years old – were invited to get acquainted with the description of the problematic situation of interpersonal relationships and to rangrate the characters of this story according to ethical considerations. Significance is the person’s ability to update his own resources, that is, to reveal the openness of experience, to be impartial, and to show creativity and to be realized in profession, as it determines the prolongation of its ability to help others. It is possible to distinguishpeople with different types of revealing ethical views by features of psychological resourcefulness, namely: a) persons who, for the sake of success, do not reveal their own ethical point of view on life situation, b) persons, who outline their own ethical view through identification with the most influential person in this situation, c) persons, who define their own ethical view on the life situation through finding a harmony in their relationship. Actualization of psychological resourcefulness allows an individual to formulate exactly an ethical view on the situation of interpersonal relationships.
