Quelles interactions entre espaces ruraux et aires protégées en Afrique orientale ? Le cas de la Tanzanie

Abstract

This paper discusses about the interactions between protected areas and agro-pastoral areas in Tanzania. This East African country is in fact one of the most involved in safari tourism. By focussing on contact spaces and lines between those two types of spaces, it addresses socio-political development issues and the role played by tourism. The issue of the role of different actors (State, international organizations, environmental lobby groups and agro-pastoral smallholders) is also raised.
