The text is a product of ongoing research at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and has the intention of presenting some guidelines raised on the proposed investigation. We asked what is the role of the Conference of Religious of Brazil (CRB), it’s strategies of action in a scenario of political, social and economic changes that occurred especially after the 2nd. World War. With the assumption of the restructuring of Catholicism, our objective is to understand how the CRB was inserted in the proposal of a social Catholicism, generated by an engaged Catholic militancy, having as context Brazil from the years 1954 to 1978.
