Effect of Hot water extract of pomegranate peel on swarming and hemolysin production in multiple antibiotics resistance Proteus mirabilis
Abstract
The study included isolation and identification of Proteus mirabilis from different clinical samples, as it was obtained 25 isolates belonging to P.mirabilis ( 8.06 % ) of the total ( 310 ) samples taken from the outpatients' and inpatients in Kirkuk General Hospital and Azadi education hospital whom infected with urinary tract , diarrheagenital tract infections , wounds , burns and ear and of different ages and both gender. P. mirabilis diagnosed depending on morphological and biochemical tests as well as by using the Rapid ONE system . The results indicated that all isolates showed swarming on the surface of blood ager and was gram negative also the isolates showed variation in the production of hemolysin that increase the pathgenicity and the results showed resistance of most isolates to antibiotics Amoxillin and Ampicillin and Amoxillin _Clavulanic acid and Azithromycin and Cefixime, while most of the isolates were sensitive to Amikacine Piprecilline and Chloramphenicol and Ciprofloxacin. The results of this study showed sensitivity of P.merabilis to hot aqueous extracts of pomegranate peel in dilution (50.25 , 12.5)mgml , also the study showed the effect these
