The body proportions of the Malay-Indonesian race in the anatomical structure are very important to know and find as a reference when discussing body characteristics and proportions, especially when drawing. The purpose of writing this article is to discuss the results of research on body proportions so that it is known how the ratio of the average height of the Malay-Indonesian race is measured from head height and what the characteristics of the appearance of the Malay race are. This research uses the content analysis method. The research sample consisted of 1,000 Malay people from various provinces in Indonesia, who were researched using photo documents. Data in the form of photographs of Malay people were analyzed based on age, gender, and ethnicity. Then, the body and head size ratio was measured, and characteristics were researched. The results of this study prove that the body proportions of Malays are shorter than Europeans if the proportion of the European body is eight times the size of the head, while the Malay is only seven times the size of the head. This research on anatomical body proportions as a reference for drawing illustrations is expected to contribute to the vocational field, especially in fashion design, where creating templates that accurately represent the proportions of different body types is important.
