Corruption Studies in Domestic Social Sciences: Political Aspect
Abstract
The authors identified and analyzed the methodological and applied approaches to the phenomenon of corruption in modern Russian science. They performed a discourse analysis of research publications and dissertations on petty, political, and administrative corruption. The existing scientific interpretations of corruption, its causes, and prevention depend on the scientific school. However, scientists are unanimous in their evaluation of the negative influence of corruption factors on political, social, and economic domestic and global processes, which demonstrates the relevance of corruption studies. Corruption causes threats, risks, and challenges to society, which might result in an uncontrolled transformation of socio-political systems, hence the need for further interdisciplinary research.
