The memoirs of A.P. Sergievskaya, B.S. Zhukov’s granddaughter, are related to the history of her family with deep roots and rich traditions. In the context of the family chronicle, Boris Sergeyevich's personal and scientific biography is presented. It tells in detail about the pre-revolutionary period of his life in Nizhny Novgorod and the formation of his scientific hobbies and interests. The author considers his Moscow period that was full of intensive work at the department of anthropology of Moscow State University, at the Scientific Research Institute and the Museum of Anthropology and was associated with the hardships of the first post-revolutionary years. Memories give an idea of the versatile talents of B.S. Zhukov that became apparent not only in science, but also in his musical and literary hobbies.
