A Missing Woman: the Hellenistic Leases from Thespiae Revisited

Abstract

In the leases, πὰρ + name in the genitive indicates the original property owner, and in one text πὰρ Μενίας, rather than Παρμενίας, adds to the number of rich women attested in Hellenistic Boeotia.
