Anisotropic Airy beams

Abstract

Anisotropic Airy beams are presented as solutions to the parabolic wave equation. We obtain the cross polarization terms in the new beams using the elegant Mukunda–Simon–Sudarshan matrix substitution rule for transition from Helmholtz scalar wave optics to the Maxwell vector wave optics. Other properties such as the intensity distribution are also presented.
