Heroísmos (1922), the representation of medical practice at the beginning of the 20th century

Abstract

This work, focused in the film Heroísmos, intends to reconstruct the processes of health and illness, inside and outside to the hospital, more frequents in Catalonia at the beginning of the 20th century. For this reason a local film is used, exceptional for its origin and ethnographic view, as a tool for analyzing the model of medical practice and its social representations within collective imagination of the population.
