Study of Preparation and Performance of GO-CeO2 Antifouling Agent
Abstract
In order to meet the green antibacterial and antifouling requirements of marine equipment, cerium oxide (CeO2) nanoparticles with haloperoxidase activity could be used as a new green and efficient antifouling agent, and graphene oxide (GO) loading was used to enhance the activity of CeO2 haloperoxidases mimicry.Herein, three kinds of GO-CeO2 composite materials with GO mass fractions of 1%,2%and 4%were successfully prepared by using GO as the supporting layer for the growth of CeO2 crystal nuclei by hydrothermal method. The antibacterial properties of GO-CeO2 with different GO contents based on the activity of haloperoxidase mimicry were discussed from the aspects of morphology, composition, activity and antibacterial properties of haloperoxidase mimicry. Results showed that in the GO-CeO2 composite with 2%(mass fraction) GO,the short-rod CeO2 was uniformly and densely distributed in the GO loading layer, which possessed the highest concentration of Ce3+ and oxygen vacancies, and the energy band gap was 2.76 eV.Additionally, the activity of haloperoxidase mimicry was the strongest, and the antibacterial rate reached 98.47%,which met the expected requirements of the new antifouling agent.Compared with commercial CeO2,GO-CeO2 composites had the stronger activity of haloperoxidase mimicry, providing a new reference for the application of CeO2 green and efficient new antifouling agents.
