THE NAMES OF FOOTWEAR AND ITS ELEMENTS IN DIALECT OF PIDHAYTSI AREA IN TERNOPIL REGION

Abstract

The article contains analysis of the names of footwear and its elements in areal, lexical-semantic and etymological aspects, which are based on the dialect material collected in Pidhaytsi area in Ternopil region. Lexical-semantic parallels with other Ukrainian dialect continuums are defined. The purpose of article is to analyse lexical-semantic specialities of the names of footwear on the example of dialect of Pidhaytsi area. To solve the set tasks complex of such techniques is used: descriptive, component, comparative-contrastive. The research extends the empirical base of Ukrainian dialectology, contains new information about dialectical vocabulary of Pidhaytsi area. The systemic nature of the vocabulary of dialects determines the distribution of words according to lexical-semantic paradigms. Each of analyzed LSG is not closed structure, such as components of one LSG may pass into oter.
