Developing the Tourist Market through the Exploitation of the Typical Products
Abstract
Typical products are considered suitable features to characterise thetourist supply of a destination. Their exploitation can contribute both to developand to create the tourist market, enriching a tourist package or specializing aspecific segment. Many typical products are simultaneously an expression ofthe culture of a territory; they identify a local community and its identity, theyrepresent its traditions and its cultural heritage. Then they can defined‘territorial intensive products’. The paper considers this issue, drawing parallelswith the case of wine tourism.
