MIGRATION A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR EUROPEAN UNION MEMBERS AND NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES

A number of 36-39 million migrants from other countries found a home or a temporary shelter in Europe, which is nearly 8 per cent of the population. Approximately 33-35 million migrants ive in one of the 15 old EU member states. In the 10 new EU Member States are about 2 million permanent or long-term residents living citizens who were born in other countries. In absolute terms, the number of immigrants in Еurope is approximately equal to the number of immigrants in the United States. Europe has become one of the main destinations on the world map. The purpose of this research is to identify the key issues and development prospects of migration, its impact on socio-economic situation and search for solutions that would ensure countries sending and receiving migrants in Europe and beyond, to get maximum benefit from geographical mobility population.
