Uplift and volcanism drove fragmentation of the Norwegian-Greenland seaway, which may have restricted Arctic-Atlantic exchange during the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum, according to sedimentological, paleontological and seismic analyses from NE Greenland.
